What an exciting weekend this is going to be. What an exciting year it has already been! Where do I even begin…

This weekend is the annual Texas Book Festival held on the State Capital grounds here in Austin.
It was started by Laura Bush in 1996 to connect readers and authors, fund library grants throughout Texas, and support literacy. It has a reputation as one of the most prestigious book festivals in the country.

There are famous authors reading from their books inside the Capital, and one is my favorite – Carl Hiassen.  There are huge tents on the grounds where publishers showcase their author’s works -and this year my book is one of them. A dream come true! And last, but not least, there will be bands playing… what could possibly be better?

Oh, yeah, it’s my birthday. I’m going to pretend this whole big bash is all for me! If you need me tomorrow, and I’m not in Tent 1, Booth #103, surrounded by books, glorious books… then I’ll be out dancing in the streets!
